Jay Sekulow, a Staunch Defender of Religious Liberty

Top Legal Mind Joins Other Impressive Speakers at Southern Evangelical Seminary’s National Conference on Christian Apologetics on Oct. 13-15

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—One of the most powerful legal voices in the country will be a featured speaker at this month’s 23rd annual National Conference on Christian Apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary(SES, www.staging.ses.edu).

Jay Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) will join an impressive lineup of speakers who will tackle the many tough topics that have been debated both in society and on the campaign trail. Speakers include Norman Geisler, Richard Howe, Richard Land, Josh McDowell, Sean McDowell, Hugh Ross, Lee Strobel, Frank Turek and J. Warner Wallace, among others.

“These past several years, perhaps more than any other time in modern history, religious freedoms are under attack,” said SES President and Evangelical leader Dr. Richard Land, who will also serve as a conference speaker. “Therefore, now more than ever before, it is crucial that we have the tools, knowledge and courage to defend our beliefs and know exactly which freedoms are afforded to us in the U.S. Constitution. Speakers like my good friend Jay Sekulow and others will equip attendees at SES’s upcoming apologetics conference, and Christians around the world through live-streaming, how to stand for their faith in an increasingly hostile environment.”

At the conference, Land will give three talks: “The Pornification of America: A Christian Response,” “The Existential Threat to Religious Freedom” and “Have We Lost the Culture War?” Hosted by Calvary Church in Charlotte, N.C., the three-day event kicks off Oct. 13 with a special women’s conference, and the event continues throughout the weekend. The 2016 theme is “The Defense Never Rests,” which focuses on the ongoing charge to Christians to defend their beliefs rationally, intelligently and lovingly.

Jay Sekulow has defended religious freedoms around the globe and is Chief Counsel for the ACLJ, one of the most prestigious law firms in the country. He is an accomplished Supreme Court advocate, renowned expert on religious liberty, a No. 1 New York Times-bestselling author for his book, “Rise of ISIS: A Threat We Can’t Ignore,” and a respected broadcaster.

At the Supreme Court of the United States, Sekulow has argued many cases, including several landmark cases that have become part of the legal landscape in the area of religious liberty litigation.

Townhall Magazine has named Sekulow to its “Townhall of Fame” and recognized him as “one of the top lawyers for religious freedom in the United States.” He was also named one of “The 90 Greatest Washington Lawyers of the Last 30 Years” by Legal Times and recognized for “fighting to expand liberties and protect civil rights.” The Chicago Tribune concluded that the ACLJ has “led the way” in Christian legal advocacy, and TIME Magazine named Sekulow one of the “25 Most Influential Evangelicals in America,” a list on which Land is also included.

Sekulow’s national radio program, “Jay Sekulow Live!,” is broadcast on more than 850 radio stations, XM and SIRIUS satellite radio, and streamed live on the ACLJ website. He also hosts a weekly television program, “ACLJ This Week,” which is broadcast on a number of networks nationwide including the Trinity Broadcasting Network, Daystar and Sky Angel.
