Classes can be taken only by those who have completed the application process (degree, certificate, non-degree credit, or audit) and been officially accepted into SES. Applications for a degree program will only be considered by the admissions committee when all of the relevant items listed below have been received (requirements may vary depending on your particular program, and exceptions are granted on a case-by-case basis). Applicants have three (3) months to complete their application once the application process begins. If an application is not completed within three months a new application will need to be started. In addition, an accepted student has six (6) months to enroll in his first course. After six months a new application must be submitted with the possibility of an additional application fee.
In addition to academic requirements, there are spiritual requirements for admission in keeping with our mission. These include Christian experience, spiritual growth, call to service, and gifts for ministry. Begin your online application by completing the initial application form. Once submitted, you will receive an email from Populi, the secure SES student information system, with a link to your personal full application that will enable you to save your progress and electronically submit the needed information.
Your completed application will include:
1. Biographical data
2. Headshot (uploaded passport style photograph, head and shoulders)
3. Academic record from all institutions of higher education attended
4. Recommendations – Names and addresses of at least three (four if doctorate program) persons, including a pastor, to whom the applicant has sent recommendation forms (these requests are sent via email from within the application)
5. Program of study for which the student is applying
The personal statement is a 300-500 “essay” written by the applicant which includes:
1. The applicant’s spiritual autobiography
2. The applicant’s aspiration for Christian service
3. The applicant’s evaluation of his or her personality
Official transcripts of the student’s academic record at all institutions of higher education attended are required. Undergraduate applicants with no prior college credits must also include their high school or GED transcript. The applicant must request each institution to send the official transcript directly to the Office of Admissions. Transcripts from international institutions must be submitted and evaluated through World Education Services (WES).
Additional requirements must be met for acceptance into the Doctor of Ministry or Doctor of Philosophy programs. Please see each degree page for those specific requirements.
A non–refundable application fee of $50 ($60 for doctorate programs) must accompany each completed application form. Application fee may be waived for residents of certain countries.
When the student’s file is complete, the admissions committee will take official action on the application. The applicant will then be notified by email and by letter of acceptance into a specific degree program or other status. A student is strongly encouraged to apply 3 months before their expected enrollment date. At minimum, an applicant must complete the application process before the following general deadlines (exceptions are on a case-by-case basis):
August 5 for Fall term admission
December 15 for Winter module admission
January 15 for Spring term admission
May 1 for Summer term admission

SES offers a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies designed to prepare students for later graduate work in apologetics, philosophy, biblical studies, and more. Some hours can even be applied to M.A. studies.
In addition to apologetics degrees, several academically rigorous Masters degrees are available that provide students with integrated and in-depth studies that will prepare you for ministry or doctoral work.
A Doctor of Ministry in Apologetics (D.Min.) as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in Philosophy of Religion (Ph.D.) offer students opportunities to develop their own research and practical resources.
